In this review, the bioactivities and mechanisms of sea cucumber saponins, such as anti-tumor, anti-biofouling, atherosclerosis-improving, obesity-improving and obesity-related insulin resistance, Parkinsons disease-improving, osteoporosis-improv-ing and lifespan extension-promoting were summarized. Meanwhile, basic research, commercial application research and in-depth studies of sea cucumber saponins with modern technologies were also prospected.
